Even now, a vibrant blues music scene flourishes in Pine Bluff, with some of the best “up-and-comers” featured at open blues jams held weekly on Wednesday evenings at Hot Rod’s, located at 201 South Main Street in Pine Bluff, where every artist who shows up gets an opportunity to play. The free jams are sponsored by Port City Blues Society, a non-profit whose mission is to perpetuate the Delta Blues art form. In 2016, the Delta Rhythm & Bayous Alliance was formed to promote tourism around the Delta Blues art form. Their first successful project was to secure the legal designation of “Delta Rhythm and Bayous Highway” for U.S. Highways 65 and 82 from Greenville/Leland, MS, to Pine Bluff, AR. The bill was signed into law on March 14, 2017. The Highway 65 portion of Delta Rhythm and Bayous Highway starts in Pine Bluff and passes through Grady, Gould, Dumas and McGehee to Lake Village. 5
